Advent (314)
  1. Today, on the First Sunday of Advent, on the First Sunday of the Church Year, Jesus invites us to bring to Him our humble places.
  2. The Christ of Romans 13:8-14 is the one who is returning to fulfill our salvation even as we wait, living with one another in Christian love.
  3. We are all waiting eagerly for the Christmas Manger in Advent, but we must see the Word made flesh’s (strange the think about) final destination.
  4. Are you looking for rest? Is your heart cluttered? Are you searching for comfort? Just look at the King-sized bed.
  5. The Great King comes for us.
  6. We ourselves are both recipients of God’s grace as well as messengers sent with His word of grace for other people whom we encounter face to face, whether neighbors or close family members.
  7. We often focus on Christ’s obedience unto death. Here, the focus is on Christ’s obedience unto Incarnation.
  8. This Advent, waiting gives birth to God’s Christmas love.
  9. Today on the Christian History Almanac, we remember Advent and Christmas traditions from Latin America.
