1. There is no problem with Christians developing different practices, cultural traditions, and the like. The problem arises when these become the badge of belonging, when they become the badge of righteousness.
  2. Christians are called to love even amid imperfect institutions, imperfect marriages and families, imperfect churches and congregations, and called to love even in our clunky and imperfect society.
  3. Paul is not telling Christians to go searching for extraordinary opportunities to demonstrate holiness. Instead, he fills the ordinary relationships God has already assigned with extraordinary mercy.
