1. The sinner who soberly faces her sin has no place to run but to a savior, and the savior to run to is at the cross. The cross is where sin goes to die.
  2. Christ’s hands and feet, Christ’s very heart, are, indeed, the hands, feet, and heart of His servants, His slaves, those He has made free by dying as slave for them.
  3. Dying with Christ. That, in the end, is the only good way to die, the only way to die well. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So, imitate that.
  4. Sinai is law. Zion is gospel. Which one will save your hearer? Which one is the author’s audience being directed to? Which one are you directing your hearers to?
  5. A life of faith is lived by “fixing our eyes on” the object of faith, even Jesus, the one dead and raised.
