  2. Your proclamation must not be about their performance but about the one thing that truly matters: Christ alone is their Master. And this Master has purchased them and made them His servants.
  3. At funerals, everyone becomes a theologian, or at least a grief counselor. And some people are not as good at those jobs as other people.
  4. The urgency of the call which you proclaim is not necessarily to do something radically different but to remain steadfast in what they are already doing.
  5. He who died in darkness for our sins has been resurrected for our life and salvation forever.
  6. The whole Old Testament points to the promise of the Messiah Jesus. Even seemingly unclear passages are promises about Him.
  7. It is the Word that makes Christians, sustains Christians, and sends Christians back into the world to love their neighbors.
  8. We are waiting for a person, for His Son from Heaven. We are waiting for the Jesus who came once in humility to come again in glory.
  9. Better than Cyrus, Jesus has come to set the captives free indeed!
  10. The religious leaders thought Jesus was threatening to tear down the Temple. Instead, He was expanding it, so it encompassed and served the world.
