New Testament (1697)
  1. The spiritual dangers are all around us, so let us not grow weary of the Word that has already taken root and borne fruit in our lives.
  2. The promise is exclusive in that it is only given to those who come as children to our Lord, but it is inclusive because all may come. Christ has room for all.
  3. In a text which struggles with the law, the Jesus you preach this week must be the law fulfiller.
  4. He has not come to be the God who keeps your agendas running, who makes your worldly dreams come true. No, He has come like someone carrying a sword into battle, knowing that He is the only true and lasting life.
  5. Paul is saying that, in its curbing function or use or purpose, the Law may curb, but it curbs us to death. The Law may indeed instruct, and it will instruct us to death.
  6. God Has Made A Decision About You
  7. In the Kingdom of God, there is a difference between knowing danger and letting it rewrite your heart.
  8. You are sinner and saint, dead and alive. Old Adam, New Adam describes the existence of every baptized believer.
  9. Mission begins with vision, with seeing the world with compassion.
