  1. Jesus dies for the sin of the world. That means he dies for the person who disappoints us. He shed His blood for the person who doesn’t love us the way we want to be loved.
  2. The Gospel is simple to confess. That is, we are justified by faith alone, through Christ alone, without the works of the Law.
  3. All other wonderful teachings of Holy Scripture from creation to Christ’s coming again are absolutely worthless without being understood in light of Jesus, death, and resurrection for sinners.
  4. I, like you probably, have an uncontrollable aversion to any food product that is past its expiration date.
  5. Our goal is to proclaim the genuine good news—that’s what “Gospel” means—of Christ’s forgiveness for you. We do not offer you better tips, techniques or checklists. Instead, You Are Forgiven is sermons by faithful pastors who will clearly show how you cannot be forgiven by your own efforts, no matter how well you do on your homework, your checklist of tasks. But they will also show how you are actually and already forgiven because Jesus has done all that is needed, for you!
  6. Peter is miraculously freed from prison. The church had been praying for it but doesn't believe it when it happens.
  7. Our complaints about God's grace always sound the same: "It was good to see him in church with his son this morning.
  8. We too believe that we can be just like God, perhaps even by helping God to be a God in our image.
  9. I don’t know if you’re like me or not, but ideas can kick around in my head in a big jumble for awhile and then, all of a sudden, something random makes all of the pieces come together.
  10. I have a confession: I don’t believe the Bible is true because it says it’s true.
  11. Nothing is easier than making grace unamazing. Just do what comes naturally.
  12. To be sure, the devil has an incredible arsenal of assaults with which he can waylay believers into ineptitude and ineffectiveness.
