God the Father (347)
  1. A promise was made to my older brother roughly 50 years ago. He was just an infant and had no idea that this promise was being set upon him.
  2. What we see in the face of this God is not a loathing expression. We find the face of a compassionate man who knew all about shame himself.
  3. Faith does not require that we always Hoorah what the Lord does. God wants children, not brown-nosers.
  4. He has wandered away into the darkness of his doubting, got lost in his grief, confused by the pains he’s suffered. It happens. Shepherds sometimes become lost sheep as well.
  5. O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus he says to these bones. Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.
  6. I came across a "deep commentary" in the form of a Facebook meme, extolling the frustrations of the natural man's inability to understand the things of God.
  7. God the Father Almighty is good. And He must be good in ways that surpass my earthly father.
  8. Surely everyone reading at one time or another in their lives has heard the popular phrase I’m writing about today.
  9. As it turned out, the novels in which I had sought escape, became part of the means whereby the Lord rescued me from my own death.
  10. So what's the back side? What's the promise? We shall not have other gods, but we do have the one, true God—the promise of a God for us.
  11. The manna God provides is never tasty enough. God never lives up to your expectations. So silently or audibly you wish for an easier way.
  12. The mother of this prophet is visited by the Mother of God. In the coming together of these two pregnant women, we see the coming together of the old and the new.
