Who is God? What did God do in the person of Jesus, and how are we connected to the benefits of the Resurrection?

The historic creeds are brief summations of Scriptural truth. Their use has been to combat heresy by gifting the words of faith and crediting Christ alone for salvation.

[Luther's] Catechism is at home in the evangelical pulpit, guiding and shaping what the preacher says so faith might be created and love given direction.

The creeds provide a means of unified confession that is biblically sound, transcending denominational lines of demarcation.

This creed is no mere squabble over words. Salvation is on the line.

As one substance, Christ is God become man, the fullness of God who was pleased to dwell in Jesus Christ.

On this episode we wrap up season 1 with the Rev. Sarah Condon who is coming to us from Houston (right after Hurricane Harvey in 2017) by way of the American South. Debi and Dan spend a little bit of time in this episode reflecting on the first season of the show.

On episode 6 we heard from Dr. Mike Horton on the resurrection of Jesus and the hope it gives us. On this episode, our good friend from Mockingbird ministries, Dave Zahl, helped us think through the final resurrection, our human flesh and the Gospel truths that this clause has to teach us.

All of these episodes should be personal, to some extent. After all, these aren't static, other-worldly doctrines but we are dealing with the message of life itself. But there is something especially personal about taking the whole theological enterprise and focusing it on your own particular problem: sin. And not abstract sin, but the real stuff.
