Vocation (646)
  1. Oftentimes we interpret our prayers through the lens of our emotions, or our passion behind the prayers we pray. When those prayers aren't answered the way we want, we examine the level of passion, or our method of prayer, to see what needs to be fixed.
  2. Sometimes our resistence to forgiveness is that we are attempting to give Christ-less grace.
  3. Okay well . . . not really. But what do you owe your pastor? Craig and Troy begin a new series on the Table of Duties.
  4. Paul closes his letter to Timothy with a stern charge. But how will Timothy be able to fulfill his duties? (1 Timothy 6:11-20)
  5. As Paul begins to wind down his letter to Timothy, he discusses what should give us true contentment in 1 Timothy 6:1-10.
  6. Rejoice with Mary as she would rejoice with you. Be blessed, like her, with humility from God, so that you may serve joyfully and willingly wherever and in whatever role God has placed you.
  7. The good news is that with our God there is always more: more than we deserve, dare, ask, or expect, more than we can see, hear, feel, or think.
  8. There is no true life and meaningful community apart from forgiveness.
  9. The reason that God’s commandments are not burdensome is that Jesus has fulfilled them.
  10. The love mentioned in 1 John 4:15-21 fourteen times (!) is a love that needs no apology but is determined at all times to sacrifice for the other.
  11. We can appreciate what we have received from God, we can receive it all as free gift, but only when we stop investing in fool's gold.
  12. Paul calls them the fruits of the Spirit after all
