Psalms (117)
  1. The second half of Psalm 89 takes a turn from promise to ruin.
  2. In part 1 of Psalm 89, we hear of David wanting to build a house for the Lord to dwell, but God has bigger plans, and makes a promise to David that from his lineage will come the Messiah of the world.
  3. Psalm 5 is a prayer that orients us as we start our day. Knowing that in the morning "You will hear my voice".

  5. This Psalm was written when David had to fake insanity to escape danger as he was on the run from King Saul.

  7. This majestic Psalm reminds us who is in charge and Lord of all.
  8. The heavens declare the glory of God, and we are wise to meditate on God's revelation through creation.
  9. Psalm 37 shows us that God is making all things new, and covering His own with protection.
  10. We asked Chad Bird about what it means to wrestle with God. Later this summer, he's coming out with his book on Jacob: "Limping with God." Our discussion went from Jacob being renamed to "Israel" which means "wrestles with God" and how wrestling with God was a keyhole to the crucifixion.
  11. Only God creates clean hearts.
  12. As the sin-bearer, Jesus was also the sin-confessor in the psalms.
