  3. Our reading presents for its readers both the anticipation of God’s Messiah and advent of God’s Messiah: Promises made and promises fulfilled.
  4. But miraculous as was Mary's faith and as extraordinary as was the manner of His conception, it is the identity and work of the boy which makes Him so significant, especially for your hearers.
  5. The will of the triune God is we are thankful for the goodness, grace, mercy, love, peace, and truth that flow from His works of creation and redemption.
  6. This Sunday offers you the opportunity to speak a word which exposes, enlightens, and ultimately enlivens your hearers as they prepare to celebrate Christmas.
  7. Mark reminds us in this text that John was a redirection specialist. Come to think of it, so are you.
  8. The future has come, and the future comes in the resurrected Christ who is present with His real voice and His real Presence in His holy Word and blessed Sacraments.
