New Testament (1592)
  1. Parables and secrets.
  2. Jesus is revealed not as some aloof, indifferent hero, but as the One who sympathizes with the sick, the hound of Heaven who chases after the wandering, the One who would salve with the oil of righteousness, and the Savior who would cover with His robe of righteousness.
  3. The Kingdom and reign of God in Jesus is marked by lowliness, by humility, by the setting aside of one’s rights, by laying down one’s life, by dying, and specifically, by Jesus dying.
  4. Digging out ears to hear.
  5. To be found in Christ is to be found in the One who the angels and archangels and all the company of Heaven praise evermore in their glorious song.
  6. Humility, embodied in Christ, and translated to the bodies of His people in His body, is well worth a meditation this week.
  7. Even in the ignorance and arrogance of the disciples, Jesus is choosing to go to the cross for them.
  8. Don’t be a waterless place.
