  1. The primary point of Joseph’s life (and every story in Scripture) is to point us to Christ. To tell us something about what God is like and how He interacts with His Creation.
  2. Christ has forgiven you, and all of your worship, all of your prayers, all of your offerings are accepted because they are built on the foundation of Christ’s forgiveness.
  3. In our search for absolution, human beings leave no stone unturned. We’re desperate to have our uneasy consciences soothed.
  4. How much forgiveness do you have? Forgiveness is a choice. What do two Monacos and one Toyota Corolla have in common? Tune in and find out!
  5. What then does this sequence of stories teach us? It teaches us a pertinent lesson about the Christian life.
  6. Have you ever felt haunted by fear, shame, and guilt? Have you ever worried that Jesus couldn't love you anymore? I have.
  7. If someone confesses their sins into my ears, I have no options but to forgive them in the name of Christ.
  8. We expect the world to shoot its wounded. But not even the world expects Christians to shoot their wounded.
  9. Imagine what it would be like if, when people in our community thought about this congregation, the first thing that came to mind was how forgiving we are.
  10. The kingdom of Christ is realized where nothing but comfort and the forgiveness of sins reign not only in words to proclaim it, which is also necessary; but also in deed.
  11. Forgiveness, not love, can restore a relationship that’s top-heavy with negative emotions.
  12. I just can’t seem to get rid of my skeletons. Nothing I do seems to work. Running and hiding doesn’t get rid of them
