  1. This year, I’m more excited for Epiphany than I am for Christmas.
  2. God has forgiven us our trespasses in Christ Jesus and it is his grace that begins the transformation process making us into little forgivers.
  3. Praying this prayer every day reveals this painful truth, I am guilty in need of forgiveness every day.
  4. Christ urges us to love our neighbor as He loved us, forgiving all of their sins - giving them the absolving, shirt-pulling, embrace that we would also want.
  5. Where there’s more sin, there’s more grace! Are you comfortable with that? That the greater the sin, the greater the grace? Could it be that easy?
  6. It’s easy to slip into thinking about forgiveness solely in terms of our authority over it.
  7. Because Jesus sacrificed Himself for us sinners, God calls us to open the door of our junk rooms and receive His forgiveness.
  8. The Lord who stood before her seemed reckless in His love. Her sin didn't deter Him. Rather, it was the reason He came.
  9. After each failure, ask forgiveness, pick yourself up, and try again.
  10. David is unable to find an example to accurately compare the purity that flows from God washing a sinner. The winter snow is the best example David can come up with, but it still falls short.
  11. From the junkyard of my past, I assembled the scrap metal of self-preservation, self-righteousness, and unalloyed selfishness, to weld together a hollow divinity. In its core, I stuffed myself: a god without divinity, offering forgiveness with conditions, to sinners without love.
  12. Who is right in these crazy times? The only oppressed One who is not the oppressor: Jesus.
