Christian Freedom (173)
  1. Jesus is the end of religion.
  2. What did Christians do, both when they encountered a Rome in its glory, as when Christ was born, and in it decline, as when Constantine tried to pull stuff back together?
  3. Jesus came to lay down his life for us. He didn’t come to slip 6’ leashes on the necks of his canine followers. He came to set us free.
  4. On episode FORTY-TWO of Let the Bird Fly! the guys welcome the Rigge family to discuss what it’s like to open and run a winery in Minnesota.
  5. The empty space in our hearts that we try to fill with stuff is filled only by the Maker of all things. An iPhone won’t fill that gap. Only a crucified and resurrected God fits in there.
  6. His forgiveness gives us the courage to watch out for our neighbor in both the present and the future, and to act with wisdom while understanding failures are still ahead.
  7. Christian freedom and Christian love go together in a most wonderful way.
  8. In Christ we are freed to be for our neighbor without fear of sin and damnation falling upon us.
  9. So bondage meets freedom, and God becomes our Master through Christ.
  10. In Christ we are already dead to sin and the eternal consequences of sin. “There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus,” writes Paul (Romans 8:1).
  11. Yet, just as the Jews had two choices, true God or no God, the Christian has the same, true Jesus or no Jesus.
  12. Welcome to Let the Bird Fly! a podcast about living freely in a world given back to us.
