Uwe Siemon-Netto was a journalist, author, and theologian whose life and work left a lasting mark on the church and the world. From his early years as a reporter covering pivotal moments such as the Kennedy assassination and the Vietnam War, to his later vocation as a Lutheran theologian and teacher, Uwe’s voice was both courageous and deeply faithful. A longtime fellow of 1517, he shared his insight and wisdom generously through his presence and writing. His extraordinary story is told in Urchin at War, the first volume in the Urchin Series from 1517 Publishing.
From the ruins of war, to the hope of Christ, he bore witness to the truth.
Uwe was a published author and a fan of the written word. All gifts given in honor of Uwe will support 1517 as we proclaim the Good News of Christ Jesus for all through 1517 Publishing.
Uwe was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church of Irvine, CA. All gifts given in honor of Uwe will support the ongoing ministry of the church as they share the Good News and Gifts of Jesus with all!
