1. In today's episode of Tough Texts, Daniel Emery Price and Scott Keith dive into Acts 1:15-26. In this passage, we witness a pivotal moment in the early Christian community as they grapple with the vacancy left by Judas Iscariot's betrayal.
  2. Caesar boasted: “I came. I saw. I conquered.” Christ can rightly say: “I came. I saved. I ascended.”
  3. If Easter is about Jesus as the prototype of the new creation, then the Ascension is about His enthronement as the One who rules forevermore on Earth as it is in Heaven.

  9. We know God has a plan to bring forgiveness and salvation and healing to people, but we can’t see how it’s all going to work out.
  10. In the middle of the spring, on a run-of-the-mill Thursday, the ascension interrupts the mundane to herald the extraordinary: Christ is in charge and is present on earth as he is in heaven, guiding history for the sake of his church.
