  1. Love turns out to be not simply a thing or action, but a characteristic of God himself.
  2. The Advents of Christ (past, present, and future) elicit faith in the word of Christ, confirmed by his presence.
  3. There is no other transitionary event in human history that warrants three full months of focused attention and persistent acknowledgment than the incarnation of the Son of God.
  4. Preaching is the first line of defense and catechetical offensive against these corrosive falsehoods.
  5. Ascertaining the what and how of the Church greatly factor into the very purpose of the Church, that is, they essentially answer the question why the Church?
  6. Just as the grave could not hold the Lord of Life, neither could the calendar contain Easter to just one Sunday.
  7. What kind of shepherd does God provide? The answer, of course, starts and ends with Christ.
  8. In the resurrection Jesus transcended time, space, and death; those things which limit human existence. So, the stone was not rolled away for Jesus, but for the disciples and for us.
  9. Christianity is not about principally about ethics. It was the Cross on the Hill rather than the Sermon on the Mount that produced the impact of Christianity upon the world.
  10. The church does well to remind the world that God is unmasked, indeed, that God has unmasked himself in the person of Jesus.
  11. The incarnate Son of God makes ordinary events extraordinary by making them events that factor into our salvation.
  12. The resurrection of Jesus was the moment when the one true God appointed the Man through whom the whole cosmos would be brought back into its proper order. A man got us into this mess; the Man would get it out again.
