About Event

Daniel van Voorhis has been invited to participate in the Cathedral Church of the Advent's Lenten Preaching Series, on Monday and Tuesday, March 9-10, 2026.  The service is daily during Lent from 12:05 pm until 12:30 pm.   There is a reservation for participation in the luncheon that follows, or walk-ins are welcome. 

Dr. van Voorhis will also be speaking at the Dean's class on Sunday morning, March 8 at 10:15 am.

Dan van Voorhis

Dan van Voorhis is an author, historian, professor, and speaker at 1517. After receiving his Ph.D. in History from the University of St. Andrews, Dr. van Voorhis spent 11 years teaching history and political thought at Concordia University, Irvine. He is a Scholar-in-Residence at 1517 and the host of the daily podcast The Christian History Almanac. Dan is married to Beth Anne, and they have two sons, Coert and Raymond.
